Out of the Ordinary is a video work exploring the life and story of Michael Dillon through visual metaphor. Michael has gone down in the history books as the first man to undergo phalloplasty in order to transition, but he also attended Oxford for classic literature, became a naval surgeon, traveled the world, and ended his life as a Buddhist monk.

This video work acts as a moment of communion with the dead, retracing his steps, walking along the same path, and realizing our shoe prints look the same even decades later.
