Land Body, Body of Land is a documentation of a durational performance in which I covered myself in snails while laying in a bed of perfect flowers. This has stemmed from a recent body of work exploring natural hermaphroditic occurrences as modes of meditation and communion with beings of a fluid genderability. 95% of flowers are hermaphroditic, frequently called perfect flowers, while approximately 99% of snails are hermaphroditic. Baring my body to these creatures, I let them overtake me through direct sensorial, symbiotic connection. I stare at the trees and sky, marveling at my miniscule nature, shrinking myself to their size- I am one of your peers, let me see myself in you.
