My Body Is a Ritual

My Body Is a Ritual is a durational performance in which I adhere multiple candles to my body with wax and allow them to burn as I meditate under the full moon. This performance was created as a ritual to commemorate my anniversary of transitioning, of which I marker by the date I started hormone replacement therapy. My body itself becomes ritual object and offering, thanking the powers at be for the opportunity to inhabit such a being of power and freedom. The accompanying documentation and short film presents my poetic musings on my transition and ever-growing relationship with my body.
